The Cat and The Dog.

Valic didn't mind sharing the bone, as long as the cat didn't get too close to his teeth - then it was okay. He carried the bone to the couch and curled up, waiting for the other to follow.

Joshua padded after Val. He had given up trying to get rid of Val's scent in heat week, he just let himself stink like dog. He jumped beside Val and began to nibble the meat.

Valic chewed on the bone and allowed the other to eat with him - there had been a strange bond between the two, but it wasn't anything else than sharing a living space, a sleeping space, and eating together.

Joshua finished what he wanted and stood up. Already Jane had some trophies and ribbons--nothing lower than third place. He had paid his $150 fee a thousand times over, and people wanted to breed him--but always refused.

Valic began to gnaw on the bone before looking at the cat and lightly head butting his shoulder before he continued to chew, Jane walked over with her hot coffee and sat at the other end of the couch, patting her lap softly to see if Joshua would warm up enough to sit on her lap. "Mch, Mch~ Come here, Joshie."

Joshua lifted his head to the gentle calling. He had slowly grown used to petting so he returned Val's little headbutt and approached Jane, sitting by her leg.

The news was turned on, it was her day off so she got to play with the fluffy animals while she sipped her hot coffee and gently stroked down his fur - speaking to the two pets. "I was at the puppy mill earlier, they ran out of hands at the SPCA so I had to go and get some of the puppies out of there. And I found a really cute little puppy there."

Joshua gazed at Valic, he was actually a half Neko--but of course Jane could only see his kitty form. He felt awful for animals in mills--he was born in a fancy house, bred for perfection. But perfection had flaws. His sister was born deaf and died a week or so after birth.

Valic was an Inu, his ears were flat at the mention and he was given a reassuring scratch to the stomach. "I know, buddy - but I saw one puppy and she's super cute and she needs a foster home so I offered to take her in." She smiled at the big dog and kissed his fluffy thigh before she began to scratch the cat's head gently.

Joshua flattened his ears. Another dog? Oh great, someone to race away from in a game outside of chase. Or maybe he could teach this pup that cats ruled the world…or at least the sofa.

Jane continued speaking to the two, Valic listened intently. "She's blind, only weeks old after her eyes opened, and she can't walk. She is I believe a baby German Shepard so don't be too rough with her." She murmured and went silent, done speaking - just sipping her coffee and watching the Tv while Valic's chewing and gnawing became more stressed.

Joshua bounced up on the sofa's top and gazed down, eyes half lidded. Whenever he was on cycle, he would mark the sofa first--and then Val's doghouse. And then the rest of the house was in 'danger'. Jane had to pen him a lot to keep him from marking all over.

Valic finished the bone off after a few more vicious gnaws and looked up at the cat on the couch, he reached up and pulled him down to curl at his side - the fireplace was on and it was getting warmer in the house. It was always cold at night, he wanted a pillow for his head and Joshua had the right amount of fluff.

Joshua rolled his eyes and shifted full cat. He gazed out the window and saw the white wolf in the snow. The wolf growled and lifted a leg, peeing on the tree by Val's doghouse. He raced away then.

Valic rested his head on the cat's and let off a heavy sigh, rubbing against him a moment before staring at the Tv and murmuring to the cat - which to Jane sounded like little growls. "There's a wolf out there that wants you."

"But I'm not on cycle." Joshua mewed back softly, leaning against Valic. "That's weird…it's hard being this fabulous." He purred and shut his eyes.

Valic shrugged a little, "well he wants you desperately, he was sniffing you off of my fur." He muttered and licked the cat's fur gently, smoothing it down before he rested his head again.

Joshua shut his eyes and lightly returned the groomings. He gazed out the window and sighed. "I hate being outside but I love it too."

"So strange... I wouldn't go out there though, he's too vicious and he's wild. He might have bugs or a disease." He muttered out, "or he could lie and say that he doesn't so he can lore you to eat." Valic frowned a little and closed his eyes to the content grooming.

Joshua nodded faintly. "I just need you to be with me and I won't get attacked…maybe." Niles was just pacing the property, giving a howl for the kitty to come out. His full name was Niles Elliot Xay.

Valic growled out towards the wolf but looked at Joshua and gave off a nod for the cat to understand that he'd be the body guard for the cat.

Joshua shut his eyes just like the average kitty. He gazed at Val and Jane, between them. He sighed and jumped from the couch, ready for bed. He always felt uninvited to the master bedroom with Jane and Val, so he had two sleeping places--the guest room and his litterbox. To be honest neither of them were very comforting.

Valic watched after the other and frowned a little and laid his head on the arm of the couch for a moment before slinking off the couch to follow after the cat to see what was up with him, he seemed a little moody whenever he went into the guest room.

Joshua slunk into the litterbox, head lowered into the grains that stank like him. He sighed and shut his eyes, rear facing Valic--it was obvious he just felt…lonely. He just didn't want to leave this spot.

Valic walked over and reached his head in the box, pulling him out and carrying him to the master bedroom with him, scruff in mouth as he carried the big cat. He could tell there was loneliness and he didn't really like that.

Joshua tensed up as he was carried to the master room and struggled instantly--in his mind, from past experience, the master bedroom was a no cat zone. He struggled free and shifted Neko, diving under the covers of the guest room.

Valic followed him with a sigh and shifted Inu after him, "hey, you're allowed in there." He called to the rare cat that was hidden off under the covers. "Come here." He muttered to the other, reaching his hand to the other.

Joshua's butt was facing Valic--so when he reached for him he touched the holy booty. With a hiss the cat whirled around and slashed his hand. He pressed his back to the wall, growling untrustingly. From how quickly his moods changed it was obvious his cycle was starting, AGAIN.

Valic stepped back and kicked the door shut gently, "What's the matter?" He asked, rubbing his bleeding hand with a frown - which had around four to five scratches going down the top and palm of it.

Joshua growled, late at night his stress got to him. Males had broken into the house and nearly gotten him a few times. He gazed at Valic, the one male he could trust--outside of cycling. In cycling everyone was a threat.

Valic frowned a little and paused, sniffing the room with a low growl - there were unfamiliar scents in the room. "I don't want you sleeping in here tonight - sleep in Jane's room." He muttered, determined to scare away who ever slipped into the house.

No one was in the room right now but Joshua knew where they came in. He just stared at Valic, refusing to move. He shifted full cat and jumped from the bed, walking away to roam the house.

Valic blocked off the door so Joshua couldn't leave the guest room, pushing it closed until it clicked shut, "Who's coming in?" He asked, clearly this was over turf and safety.

"I don't know but I'll stop them." Joshua growled, sitting in front of Valic. Then he shifted to a Neko, as if going to force his way through. "They won't set foot in this house."

"That's a lie - you're going in heat again, they'll be back as soon as they can smell it." Valic blocked the door off my leaning on it, staring down at the other with a small frown, "Just sleep in Jane's room - you're allowed and welcomed to join in that bedroom."

"I don't want to sleep there. I don't want to." He turned around and just sat by the window, flicking his tail side to side. "Why can't she just get me neutered or whatever and then I won't have this problem?"

"She doesn't have the money right now, she's going through stuff right now with a restraining order and law suits so she's pretty broke right now." He muttered out softly, looking the other over a moment, sitting by the door and crossing his arms.

Joshua began to clean himself off. "Then I have to get first place in the next cat show I'm in." He muttered. That would win her some money, and of course he would feel good. "Can I go out now?" His scent was growing very slowly.

Valic shook his head a little, of course he wouldn't let the other leave until he learned his lesson on what was going on. He pursed his lips a little and looked to the cat with half lidded eyes, "Don't go outside when you're on your cycle, okay?"

Joshua sighed and sat on the bed. "Yeah, okay." He growled and suddenly tried to rush Valic, and shove him against a wall to get him away from the door. He wanted to get out and mark everything with his sickly sweet scent, which meant crate time for him, Jane had to lock him in.

Valic was too big to move and he let out a growl, grabbing his shoulders and forcing him down on the ground to calm down some. "Chill out you little spraying cat." He growled out softly and kept him pinned down to the ground.

Joshua hissed. It made him uncomfortable when he had to hold his spray in--much like urinating. He just glared up at Valic and tried to wriggle free, yowling loudly--wanting Jane to get the brute off. If she walked in she'd see her dog on the cat.

Valic kept him down and reached to flip him over and grab his scruff but Jane walked in and could already tell what was up with Joshua because Valic got weird. She grabbed Valic by his collar and pulled him away and lifted up Joshua.

Joshua, for once, was glad to get in the cage, away from Valic. He hissed at the dog and stayed close to Jane, tail lashing. His scent drifted over to the big dog, and he growled lowly.

Jane lifted up Joshua and carried him to the pen, placing him and making sure he couldn't get out - though she placed in a few new items for him to mark if he needed to. Like an old towel and a rugged blanket.

Joshua rubbed against the sides of the pen, purring softly. There was fresh food and water, in case of situations just like this one. The small cat curled up in a corner and yawned.

Joshua hissed and tried to throw Valic off. "I don't want your scent!" He growled and hissed, escaping and jumping to safety outside the pen.

Valic jumped out after him and snatched him by his scruff, pushing the cat back down and rubbing against the silky white fur with low growls, making sure he was decently smothered with his scent. He would be stuck this way since the litter box was cleaned out earlier.

Joshua hissed and screamed for Jane, in his horrid bloodcurdling caterwaul. He sounded like he was being kille verus being loved.
