The Cat and The Dog.

In a peaceful neighborhood lives several animals, indoor pets and outdoor pets that range from furry to scaled, hairless to feathered.
Side by side the houses rest with a street and clean sidewalks, bright green grass and tall trees with blooming flowers.

Grrrrrr.....
There's a big dog that lives outside in the backyard in a big red dog house in the corner of the big backyard garden, he had on a big collar with a chain attached to the leash - he could still roam around most of the backyard but he preferred where he lived. This dog was named Valic and was the mix of the following: German shepherd. Alaskan malamute, and a Siberian husk.

Next door was an Angelic little cat, a fluffy white cat with beautiful ashy violet eyes, he lived indoors most of the time but came outdoors every here and there. This was Joshua - but there were other cats and dogs on the block and not everyone got along at times. Joshua had the silky long fur, a very fancy looking cat.

"I'll be back later boy." There was a single middle aged women living at the house, waving good bye to her big lovely guard dog that was sitting half in and half out of his dog house. Tongue lulling out with half lidded jade eyes, she walked over and kissed his wet black nose before unhooking the leash so he could protect the house. The way her garden was, the fence went all the way around her house, only stopping as a small entrance gate at the front door. She didn't have a garage, her small dainty car sat on the street. The business woman waved and walked away, locking the door and leaving for her work shift.
Valic stood up and stretched with a sigh, sitting up and looking around for a moment, he was in black jeans and a white tank top on under a white dress shirt.

Joshua lived in a house with middle/upper class people. But he was treated like the King himself. Head always held high and tail up, the silky white cat trotted to the backdoor. Today was especially warm, so he would go and sunbathe on the porch. He mewed softly and his owner, a woman with lots of jewelry, came over. She was lithe, but wasn't too skinny. She opened the door and Joshua slipped out. He got cat calls--literally. Whistles about his white coat and fluffy tail happened frequently.

Valic, however, was sniffing around the yard and being sure that the yard was well protected before he saw a friend walking down the street - Dain, a fancy poodle, walked on over with her young little owner on the other end of the leash. "Good morning, Strange new breed." Dain commented on the other, whom scrunched his nose and gave a good morning in return. To the eight year old girl she just saw two dogs barking to each other.

Joshua jumped up on the fence with delicate soft paws. His tail wrapped around his soft fluffy paws and he gazed down. Teasing dogs was one of his favorite things to do. The small cat yawned, revealing cute little teeth. As a Neko, he was just sitting on the side of the fence. "Hey dogs!"

The little girl tugged the Poodle away form the fence since mom and dad called her back, but Valic still heard the blonde and turned his head before he started to walk over towards the other. "Hello there, breakfast." He stated calmly, just standing under the other form where he was on the fence.

Joshua drew his legs up by his chest with incredible balance. His tail flicked side to side. "Mm, am I really that tantalizing to you~" He purred, but glanced over as the other cat in his house--they were supposed to breed--jumped on the fence beside him and seductively rubbed against him. He frowned and pushed her away. "I'm busy!"

Valic raised a brow, his hands in his pockets as he looked at the other with a slight snort when the little lady was pushed to the side. "Good morning." He murmured to her before looking back at the Cat, "You bark more than you bite. How about stepping down here like you say you will but never do."

Joshua shrugged and reached down. His foot lightly tapped the ground. He quickly drew back up. "Ack--that grass has been pooped on, sicko. I simply can't let my princess paws touch that…filth." He began to lick at his paws.

"Actually I'm trained." Valic stated bluntly - as humiliating as it sounded - he was a trained dog. Yea, his owner got pretty bored on the weekends since she was single and only had him to accompany her.

"You use a litterbox?" Joshua snickered, tail flicking. "Little puppy uses a litterbox, Queenie." The she-cat next to him purred amusement and tried to snuggle up to him, twining her own soft tail with Joshua's. Even as a male he seemed…prettier than her.

"Nope." He stated simply before he walked over to the black bar gate, kicking it hard to shake the two cats down, they'd either fall in the yard where the epic chase and tail biting would happen - or they'd both fall in the mud behind where they were sitting. "Don't go and sit so high and mighty, cat. You walk in your filth daily, I don't."

Queenie fell backwards in the mud, screeching and racing back inside. Of course, their snotty owners would try to press chargers--these were rare breeds of cats, and tainting their coats was expensive. Joshua yowled as he fell forward into Valic's yard. He didn't move, just lay there, eerily still. His beautiful ashy eyes were shut.

The dog walked over and bit his tail, picking the cat up and walking to the porch, setting him down before walking over to his dog house to wait. The other would get up soon enough, and of course - Valic was a new breed of dog built to resemble a wolf. He was a show dog himself but still played dirty - his owner saw it as: Soap and water will fix the mess.

Joshua lifted his head--the playing dead trick didn't work. His tail flicked back and forth and he gazed around. He would never run from a dog, and even if he did, he was faster and more nimble on his feet. He stood up and hissed at Valic, ears going flat. His tail puffed up. "Idiot! If your disgusting teeth had bent my tail my owners would have thrown me out because I couldn't compete in shows!"

(Joshua is a Khao Manee, rare breed of white cat~But he's really rare cuz he has long fur~

Valic snorted a little and walked over to the smaller creature, "You act like such a girl." He growled out to the other, his tail wacking the other in the side of his leg, leafs rubbed on the other's pants - his luxurious white cat fur. "Man up a little, acting as if you'll be tossed away so carelessly."

{I think it would be cute if Joshua did get tossed out by his owners and Valic comes up to his owner with Joshua in grasp like - can we keep him? *puppy eyes*}

Joshua quickly rubbed off the leaves, his owners whined and complained if he got leaf bits stuck in his long white fur. They had to take every last one out with a brush as well as by hand. "Except I will." His tail lashed side to side, obviously this dog didn't understand how strict his owners were. He had already seen three she-cats go, after getting their tails caught under a chair or something. "Now can I go back to my yard?"

"Yea, go back. But you gotta walk across the yard if you want to leave." He stated, it was clear this big mutt wasn't about to help him with such a task as to cross the lawn - and unfortunately for Joshua, that was a fifteen foot walk with leafs scattered everywhere, the other weekend his owner and himself made a leaf pile and played in it like a puppy and a child would.

Joshua scowled at the sight of all the leaves. His fur was going to be so ruined. But he hated it here, he made a vow to never come outside ever again. He hissed as he tried to sidestep the leaves but a lot of their bits got caught in his long fur. He jumped up on the fence after the terrible walk and jumped down, clearing the mud puddle. He pawed at the door and meowed. His cries were answered--but as the door opened and his owner saw the mess, she began to curse at him. "You dumb fuck shit cat...stay OUT of the leaves!" She grabbed his scruff and dragged him inside to clean him.

Valic - of course - saw this and disagreed with the actions the lady took, liked Joshua or not he would still rage about it. She just treated him like he was a trophy, not something that should be loved. His barks were vicious - the true guard dog in him showing as if he was tempted to attack, his lips pulled up to a snarl as he jumped at the fence to try and get out and into the yard to speak his mind. "Who do you think you're talking to you worthless human!? He's NOT your trophy, don't even lift him like that you ungrateful piece of shit!"

Joshua flattened his ears in response to the barking and the woman glared. "That stupid wolf is in the backyard...we should just throw you out there to mangle your ruined coat, huh cat?" She locked the door and shook him, the poor little cat tried to curl into fetal position and just shut his eyes. He got treatment like this daily, but he always had to hold his head high and tail up--just like a proper showcat. He wasn't something to be loved, he WAS just a trophy to be admired. With his extremely rare long white coat and ashy eyes.

Valic started a chaos within the neighborhood of dogs, whom began to bark and ask what was happening - he barked out that there was a pet being show cased as a trophy, and of course... That caused negative uproar. Not to Joshua, but because these dogs always felt the love of their owners and hated the fact there was an animal in the neighbor hood being treated without such a warm embrace from those who fed and bathed them, who made the deal to keep them safe.

The lady went to the bathroom and began to fill up a sink full of water, growling at the sound of the dogs barking. "If only I could hit you, stupid cat." She growled and put him under the water--not caring that it hadn't warmed up. He just flattened his ears and let the icy cold water run down his long white fur. She got a brush and began to pick out all the leaf bits, one by one. He just let the rough yanks of the brush happen, he figured being a showcat just meant you were a prize. And he had a show tomorrow, so he'd have to look his best.

Valic and a lot of the dogs in the neighborhood had shows tomorrow, they went whenever they could go, and most of them went to a Mutt show rather than shows for Purebreeds. Valic's owner came home for her lunch break and heard her dog barking up a storm, "Hey, babe - stop it." She called over, patting her knees to get his attention, but he was so focused on that lady. Sighing, the tall blonde women with brown parts in her hair walked over and gently pet his fur down, "Is it that lady again?" She asked softly, she had a pretty tight bond with the dog.

Joshua was worth at least ten thousand dollars alone. Not even including what it would cost to take his pedigree papers--proof that he was a Khao Manee. After a long time every single leaf bit was out and she began to blow dry his fur with a warm blowdryer, muttering rude things under her breath. After Joshua was brushed again and set on the floor he walked out of the bathroom and jumped up on a chair, gazing out at all the barking dogs. They were so lucky, they could run around and play and not worry about a thing. Wait, not true...they had stuff to worry about but it wasn't as stressful as being a showcat. Especially a high ranking one. He mewed softly, as if trying to join in the dog chorus. His owner lightly hit his tail with her hand. "Shut up, you're not a dog."

The dogs howled loudly, all the dogs were joining in and same with street cats. Valic growled lowly with his head down and the fur on his neck on end while his Jane pet his head. "I don't like that lady, trying to sue me because you bark at night." She muttered - she and the lady didn't get along at all, after all - Jane wasn't lady like enough. Speaking of which, to keep her puppy calm - she tackled her dog to get him to play instead of focusing on the whole situation.

Joshua glanced over to see Queenie getting her head rubbed, and getting fed a delicious smelling treat. He tilted his head up and sniffed the air, jumping down and hesitantly approaching his owner. But she had already gotten up and was walking away with the package. He mewed softly and looked to Queenie, she had gotten two treats--but she had already eaten her first one and was chewing her second. He dropped his tail and returned to gazing out the window. His tail coiled around his soft paws and he listened to the dogs and cats of the neighborhood howl and yowl about him. The only reason his owner didn't like him was because he wasn't proper enough and was a male. His self esteem was low enough to hit Hell, the only reason he picked on dogs was because he needed something to beat up on, and he secretly wished he was one.

Valic wasn't in the mood to play and looked at Jane, she huffed and sat at his side - still in her work attire. "I swear you could be a human sometimes." She muttered before looking over and seeing the white cat in the window, she got up and walked inside her house, sometimes she bought cat food and cat treats for the neighborhood cats, but this cat looked so sad. She walked out and set the bag just outside her door. Valic looked to the bag, then over to Joshua and somewhat nudged his head for the other to get outside.

Joshua gazed outside and caught sight of the dog from before...the one who had caused him to get yelled at. He stiffened up and put on his mask, head tilted up and turning around, tail held high to show his butt--acting classy. He jumped down and out of sight. Maybe he could impress his owner by acting snotty...but the moment he was out of sight, he laid down on the ground, chin resting on his paws. He could almost taste the treats that Valic's owner had laid out, but his owner wouldn't let him outside until two days. And by then the neighborhood cats would have eaten it all.

Cats were already starting to approach the tasty treats but Valic snapped at them and guarded the little Frisky bits like his life depended on it, snatching the bag and carrying it to his dog den, no cat ever dared to go in that area. There were bones frown steak, dog bones, dead birds, dead snakes, and dead lizard bones in there. Though there was a nice comfy dog bed in there, the dog house was actually large, only one side had the bed and then the other side had the bones and chewed up toys. He had the little treats off in the corner behind his bed, snarling to any trespassing cat.

Joshua shifted into a full cat, so even other animals would see him as a cat. He glanced up as his owner bent down. His heart raced, was he going to get petted, and loved? No, she lightly tugged an ear. "If you don't place first, second, or third then I'm throwing you in the river. Got it, worthless?" He gazed up at her understandingly, and trotted away, head high and tail up. Just like he was supposed to. He jumped up on a bed and gazed down at the yard he wished he could roam freely in, but was scared of the neighbor dog. Right--he was scared. He gazed down and saw several cats out there. His tail wiggled and he mewed, pawing at the window.

The strays couldn't take notice to him, they were hungry and they knew Valic had the treats in his den, so they tried to get in but the dog snapped at them - making Jane run out and set a bunch of cat food on her porch to feed the starving creatures. Valic burrowed in his bed, peeking out from his bed.

Joshua pawed frantically at the window with his front paws, meowing. But the glass was soundproof, he just looked like a cat pawing at the window. His stomach growled, he was nearly starved to keep his skinny body. His fluffy long coat made him look fat, so he had to starve to keep that beautiful look.

Valic watched the pawing cat and got up with the treats and climbed over the fence - which it looked like a dog trying to get over and managing to clear it. After all, in his natural half form it was easy for him to get over it. He made sure that Joshua could see where he hid the treats - behind a flower pot in the corner of the house.

Joshua perked his ears and gazed at the food, his stomach growling. But why was the dog helping him? He hated the stupid cat, after all, he had made him run across the leaves. He must hate him to some extend. He watched Valic leave the food and raced down stairs, pawing at the door to get outside.

Valic walked back to the fence and began to mace his way back up the metal and into the yard, sitting by the gate so he could explain his reasoning when the other came out as to why he was giving him food.

The lady came out with Joshua, but he was on a long silver leash. He dove behind the flowerpot and began to gobble down the treats. He glanced up at Valic, and suddenly it became obvious that he was starving. He didn't even chew the treats, just swallowed one by one. Only halfway through the small pile, the woman frowned and yanked the leash, making him choke and spit out some treats. She saw them and growled, yanking him inside and slamming the door shut. She forced his mouth open and jabbed his gag relfex, making him vomit up the treats. "No!"

Valic's fur stood up on end and the dog climbed the fence and raced to her yard and began to ram the door, snarling and barking viciously at the lady's actions, he began scratching the paint off her dainty white doors and rammed it - his attempts were to drown fear into her, he looked like a wolf after all. So a 'wolf' trying to attack you through a door was pretty creepy.

The lady screamed at the wolf and shoved Joshua away, turning and running--but stepping on his fragile tail. He screamed in pain and instantly stared at his tail--bent at the tip. Ruined, forever. The heel had hit right on the bone, twisting it beyond repair. He gazed down at it for a few seconds, feeling dread. He was going to be thrown in the river.

The dog snarled and grabbed the door handle, trying to twist it with his teeth to open it and snatch the abused cat out so he could eat,he looked so starved and the way he looked when eating just wasn't normal. Sure Valic looked like that when he was given a bone - but that was because he was a dog. Dogs always looked like that.

Joshua continued to stare at his bent tail, now he could neer compete officially. He gazed over at his owner, who had gotten a gun and was aiming it right at the dog's throat. "Step back or I'll kill you!" She didn't notice Joshua yet.

Valic snarled at her, even when faced with death he didn't care - he was a guard dog. He protected things until he died, the beast continued to snap at her until had a muzzle snapped on his face, Jane grabbing a leash and chaining him before looking at the lady. "Don't you dare point that at Valic ever again." She snapped, yanking the dog back as he tried to attack again - but was basically harmless.

"Then don't let him over here!" She snapped and grabbed Joshua by his scruff, dragging him away. She put the gun up and noticed the kink in his tail. "Oh, now you've gone and done it…I need another male Khao Manee now, idiot." She grabbed a pet carrier and threw him into it. She was going to dump him into the river to drown, no one would pay for him. She'd keep the papers though, his papers would be expensive.

The door was still open and Jane raised a brow, "Hey, give the cat a chance - don't just throw him away like he's crap - go to a pet hospital and get a split, they can fix it." She said to the lady while Valic continued to snarl and give Jane rope burn on her hands from the pain of the leash.

"He'll always have a knot in his tail. Now leave me alone!" The lady slammed the door in Jane's face. It looked like she was going to give him to the shelter, the way he sat in the cage. His head tilted up and he meowed, trying to paw at the cage's door.

Jane - who loved animals dearly - was pulled by Valic and was walking at his side to get to the other side of the house to snatch the cat from that lady. She was so abusive and cruel to him. Instantly the doorbell was wrung like Mozart on a piano.

The lady locked the front door and went upstairs. She'd wait till night. Joshua was in the carrier in her hands, head lowered and ears flattened. He could tell that she didn't care. If Queenie got a kink in her tail then she would keep her. He was just…hideous.

(Should we skip to morning~? I have a plan for how Valic saves the kitty~)

In the middle of the night the lady had snuck out and driven to the bridge. She had just simply tossed Joshua into the river, carrier and everything. He had no way to escape, just floating down down…until an undercurrent had slammed the cage against a rock. That had broken the lock and Joshua had swam to the surface. But he had passed out, and the river pushed him towards the shore. That's where he lay for hours now, his once beautiful coat now tangled and muddy. He looked like a piece of seaweed. But the broken cage was beside his body. He had no idea that Jane and Val walked by here daily.
