The Cat and The Dog.

Valic sniffed over his dog house, there was still a few traces of cat but it would go away soon enough, he looked over the new hole in his dog house and started to pick at it, to remove anything that would make it splinter. He frowned softly and leaned against it before going in and curling up into the dog house he had when he lived at the puppy mill - shared with twenty other dogs that were big and small - and then near death by slaughter. This was his house, his memories, and he had to break a bit of it off.

Joshua sighed, head lowered. The small cat slipped out of the yard. He sighed softly and began to pad away. He wasn't sure where he was walking, maybe to the park. As a kitten with his two siblings he was taken there once.

Valic stayed in his dog house and burrowed up, he didn't want to do anything but sleep and chew on a few bones and mellow out some until Jane got home.

Joshua quietly padded towards the park, it was a long walk for his tiny paws but…it was okay. He sighed and sat down in the plush grass.

Valic closed his eyes and fell asleep in the dog bed with a heavy sigh.

Joshua was asleep in the park, there were some cats around him. But they didn't come close. Because of that ginger from before, sitting in front of the sleeping silver kitty. He was built and handsome.

Valic got up after a while when he heard a soft knock on his door, Jane smiled at him. "Hey there big buddy. I'm going to head out now, I'll see you after work, okay? It's supposed to rain so stay instead or stay in your dog house." She kissed his big black wet nose and waved goodbye to him.

Joshua lifted his head sleepily and gazed up at the ginger cat. He sat up and he gazed back at him. The ginger settled down beside him and began to groom his ears--out of courtesy. "You should come with me to my house…it's gonna rain."

Valic walked inside and curled on the couch, which had air freshener sprayed on it - all over the house actually. He sighed heavily and the doggy door moved when a dog slipped in just in time before the dog doors shut.

The ginger cat began to walk back to his house with Joshua beside him. "You were the cat who marked on the dog's house." He nodded. "Yeah, your smell…it's one of the best." He approached the huge Victorian house that was in the neighborhood beside Valic's.

Valic looked over at the other dog - which wasn't a dog but a hungry wolf. He got up and walked over with a tilted head - seeming pretty calm before he snapped down at the other, an instant dog fight began. The wolf and Valic had a stand off - they were fighting over power at the moment to see who would be in control in the situation. Valic snagged the other's face and shoved them to the door with a growl before the other began obedient and became submissive, lying down. Valic laid at the other's side and sighed heavily.

Joshua watched the ginger walk in through a small cat door and followed. He gazed at him. "So what's your name?" He asked. "Neku." He replied and continued to walk. "Come eat some food, you're skinny." Joshua paused and gazed backwards, Valic was…no, he wouldn't be missing his stink and his personality.

Valic sat there with a lonely sigh, his head resting on the wolf's rear - much like ying and yang. "What's your name?" Val asked the other creature he was sharing space with, "Scarlet. You're Valic." She muttered and shifted a little to be more comfy but looked at him.

Joshua sat in front of the food and began to eat. Neku stood behind him, sniffing his tail gently. Joshua just kept eating, lashing his tail. Neku advanced forward a little more, watching Joshua eat. "Animals or Nekos?" Joshua lifted his head. "Ah…I don't know which I prefer more." Neku rolled his eyes. "I was talking about how we should have sex…"

"You look lonely." She observed with a soft growl in her voice, Val gave a slight dog shrug, "The cat's not here so It's too peaceful. I don't like it at all." He muttered out under his voice and leaned back.

Joshua sat up, turning around and refusing to let Neku on his back. "I'm not ready for that. I don't know anything about you." He stood up and began to pad out. "Thanks for the meal though--I'll drop by every once in a while." Neku watched him go and sat down. In time…

Valic and Scarlet got up and went in the back yard, just sitting there and talking, "I'm a lone wolf and I hunger terribly, I travel closer and closer in need. I lost three pups already." Valic frowned a little, "I'll leave food behind the dog house for you then, do you have anymore pups?" He asked her - she gave a small nod, "Yea, he's behind the dog house. A new little guy."

Joshua padded back towards the house, head lowered. He smelled like heat stink. He walked to Valic's house and paused at the sight of another friend. Well…that was surprising. He didn't know about this one. The small cat shrugged and began to walk to the park, obviously he wasn't wanted there…Valic had his owner and other friends.

Valic brought food over to the pup before catching scent of Joshua's heat once again and perked up a little, he hurried to feed the mother wolf and her pup - who didn't even have its eyes open. "I'm sorry, I have to get someone." He said under his breath before slipping out of the gate and following the cat.

Joshua was trotting down the sidewalk, head held high and tail up--walking slowly like a proper show-cat. He wasn't aware he was being followed by Valic, just walked towards the park.

Valic picked up his pace and snatched the cat up by his scruff in the same way he always did whenever he snatched the cat up, padding home with a soft sigh, carrying the heavy heated cat.

Joshua hissed in surprise and tried to attack Valic at first instinct, but just curled up and shut his eyes. He let himself be carried like a kitten, eyes shut.

Valic ignored the startled attack and padded to the fence, going in through it and going inside with a soft sigh, setting the cat on the ground just as the doggy door locked.

Joshua stayed on the ground like an obedient little kitten, but then stood up with his head tilted up lightly and his tail up, as if he was at a show and Valic was his judge, who would be examining him.

Valic stretched and stepped out of his dog house later that morning, maybe around seven. There was fresh snow lying on the ground and his tail wagged instantly and he began to prance and jump around in the thick white quilt of frozen water.

The white wolf named Niles was curled up in Valic's backyard. He blended in with the snow perfectly. Joshua was out of heat at the moment, and legally Jane's pet cat. Niles lifted his head, hearing Val's footsteps.

Valic darted around the yard, destroying the fresh snow with barks of pure joy at the fact there was a new play item, he dove into the snow and rolled around happily before he got up and darted some more. Jane yawned and stood up out of bed, going to feed Joshua and make coffee.

Niles yawned and stood up, woofing softly to let Valic know he was there. His ears were back and his tail was low to the ground--showing he already knew the other was the boss. He sat up and gazed at him.

Valic stopped playing around when he heard the other bark and gave off a feral snarl, his tail up and ears flat with his lips pulled up to bare fangs - unaware of the submissive position since he was white like snow, practically unseen.

Niles stood up again, decided to fight now. He snarled and snapped his fangs down on Valic's fur, smelling the heat scent from Joshua last week. He didn't like other dogs, only cats. And this one was male--even better.

Valic snarled and bit down on the other's chest and ripped at his fur, shoving the other to shake him off but wasn't able to with the latching to his scruff. His paws raised up and slashed at the other canine's face and neck, claws ripping around.

Niles snarled and shoved Valic's face to the ground, forcing him down. And to surrender. He growled and pressed the other's muzzle against the dirt.

Valic growled loudly and shifted Inu and grabbed him behind his fluffy pits and slammed the wolf to the ground on his back with a vicious snarl, snow and dirt on his face as he continued to stand defensively.

Niles shifted Neko as well and stood up, shoving Valic away. He growled, tail held up defensively. He shoved Valic down on the ground and held him down, glaring at him. Joshua poked his head out of the open window.

Valic kneed him hard and grabbed his throat, sinking in his nails and ripping at the flesh he could grasp, kneeing him several times before he raised his legs - his feet on the other's stomach and pushing him hard - well actually he kicked the other off like a kangaroo.

Niles landed hard on his back and he snarled, jumping up and slashing at the other's cheek. He glanced over and caught sight of the half-Neko Joshua, couldn't help but flash a smile, and then resumed his fight with Valic.

Valic saw that and instantly grew furious and tackled him to the ground, skidding the white wolf's back across the ground and brittle grass. "Who the fuck are you and what the hell are you doing on MY property?!" He snarled at the other, slamming a fist to his face.

Niles snarled and shoved Valic off. "I'm here for your kitty, of course." No surprise, he was the eighth Neko to come and try to claim Joshua--but for the first time he was actually good looking.

Valic growled and got off of the other with a snarl before stalking to his dog house, there was no reason for him to protect Joshua - aside from that one alley cat who was obviously dangerous. "Fine. It's not like he's mine." He snapped, going into the dog house and burrowing up with a scowl. Why'd he even care? Joshua didn't like him even in the slightest.

Niles flicked his tail and turned around to look at Joshua--but he had slipped away and curled up in the litterbox. The wolf huffed and just turned to leave, the cat was probably busy right now.

Valic snarled softly when the other passed his dog house, he didn't like the other on his turff and heard Jane call out so he could come eat breakfast. Running up to the door and shaking off the snow, he stepped inside and padded up to the dog bowl where chunks of raw beef and hard dog food rested in the bowl.

Joshua flicked his tail, he was crouched in front of Valic's bowl. He was nomming some of the raw beef. But at the pawsteps he shot up and raced away. He was becoming more and more of a troublemaker with every passing day.

Valic frowned at a half eaten chunk of beef and nudged out of the bowl for the trouble making cat to eat later, starting to devour the food placed before him - eating all the dry food before the lovely and juicy beef chunks that oozed a slightly cool bloody liquid.

Joshua watched from a corner of the room, stepping forward lightly. He snatched the food and began to eat the chunk of meat. He still didn't slow down, just eating and eating.

Valic sat back when he finished, only crumbs were left and he looked up at Jane as if she would give him more - which she gave him the bone that was left from a steak the other night, it still had some meat on it too.

Joshua finished his chunk and approached the bone, nibbling a little bit of the yummy meat off. His tail flicked side to side--a splint had healed the break in about a week.
