High School Drama.

"I'm not...entirely sure if I even believe my instincts." He muttered into the other's shoulder, leaning on the thinner other while he thought about it - trying to form words. "It's just one of those strange feelings where you know something's up and that there's something different, but you don't know how to handle it."

"I understand. Totally." Joshua gave a faint nod. "So you think I'm different, weird? Not…'right'?"

Valic reacted quickly, "I didn't mean it in a bad way though, I just meant it as in there's something different about you and I really want to know what it is that's so different. It's like a puzzle." He knew that sounded bad, he was almost worried he offended him.

Joshua gave a small nod and gazed at Valic. He'd never been called a puzzle before. "That's an interesting way to put it…" He muttered softly. No one had ever been able to put him together before.

"You're a puzzle I really want to put together, so far I'm sure I have a little of the rim and a bit of the middle done, but I want to put it all together." Valic was speaking of the common things he knew and how he knew about the heart break, little bits and pieces.

Joshua gazed at the other and frowned slightly in thought. "Am I a milk puzzle, or one with a picture on it?" He thought of himself as a milk--in the end there was no picture.

"I dunno - you can be any puzzle you want to be, I'm just trying to put it together to find out who you really are." He knew the relationship wouldn't last until marriage - no highschool relationship was ever like that, if it was...something was wrong with that picture then. But he had hopes for the time being they could be happy and make things work.

Joshua tilted his head a little to the side. "I was asking what you thought, it doesn't have to be my thoughts." The small teen shut his eyes and sighed softly, lifting his head slightly to gaze out the window.

"I'd hope there was some sort of picture in the end, I guess..." Valic muttered out faintly, noticing the grip grow weaker as he looked out the window to see what was going on in the outer world around them, which was nothing but thick snow covering half the window.

Joshua gazed at Valic, sighing ever so softly. He was still too uncertain of himself, and didn't want to kiss the other without permission. But this moment seemed so perfect, with a comfortable silence and a nice, warm atmosphere around them.

Valic saw that little glint in the ashy purple eyes that showed he wanted something, "what's on your mind, Joshua?" He asked in a soft murmur, leaning back on one hand while the other continued to gently pet.

"Nothing." Joshua glanced down and sighed softly, he wasn't brave enough to voice his thoughts. "I'm fine, do you want to do something?" The small, timid teen glanced up for a few seconds before looking out the window.

"Yea, one - stop looking to the window and look at me. Two - tell me your boundaries. What am I allowed to do? When can I do it and what am I not allowed to do?" Valic didn't want to do anything and screw up like he did at times.

Joshua returned his gaze to Valic after a few seconds and gazed at him curiously. "I guess...don't...well, I don't quite know how to put it...nothing to make me lose my virginity, I guess. Anything else, you're fine. Pants stay on." He fell silent after that, naturally glancing away with his cute blush.

Valic gave a nod before thinking for a moment or so about what he was allowed to do, "So I can kiss you basically whenever?" He asked, raising a brow as he thought about it - he wasn't sure how far the other would even go with that, but he'd respect any sudden decision.

"Er, sure...unless it's, you know, a bad time." Joshua rubbed his arm a little nervously, Neku had never asked about limits--he had just gone and done the stuff that he wanted to without any real permission.

Valic gave a nod and pet Joshua's head softly, "Just know that I'll never do anything that you don't want to do, I tend to respect limits rather than push them to see what I can get away with." Val shifted under the other to be more on the bed rather than nearly slipping off the edge of it, giving a faint sigh in thought.

Joshua followed Valic onto the bed and sat beside him, soft ashy eyes fluttered shut. The small teen gazed at Valic for a few seconds, that nice and calm moment was back--but he brushed the idea to the side.

Valic leaned over when the other wasn't paying attention and pressed a soft kiss to his lips, being gentle to start with and staying on a soothing level to keep the peace in the room that was already there.

Joshua blinked at the sudden unexpected little kiss but shut his eyes and leaned into it, he usually never felt so calm and controlled of a situation. He adjusted himself to be more comfortable and opened one eye slightly.

Both jade eyes were shut while he leaned closer to the kiss, pressing it gently but staying at an even length so the other wouldn't reject him in any manner. It took a moment or two before he reached a hand over to lightly cup his cheek and tip his head up a bit more.

Joshua allowed his head to be tilted up and shut his eyes, allowing himself to lean slightly more into the kiss. He had never had it this gentle before, Neku always forced kisses and touching.

Val was sure to keep his hands to himself, he didn't want the other to reject him and shove him away like an unwanted puppy, the kiss stayed tender and light all the while still passionate. The wind outside was still whispering and kids were laughing/playing loudly.

Joshua parted the kiss for a few moments to sit back and gaze at Valic with a content smile. He almost leaned back in but stayed a few inches away--still timid.

Valic took in a soft breath when they parted before seeing the other's reaction, returning the soft smile before he closed the small gap between them with another gentle kiss - though it was more of a peck.

Joshua returned the small peck but hesitantly, he usually didn't have any say in what happened or whatever so this gentleness was a nice change.

The peck broke off in minutes because it lingered around too long, but it was still nice. He gave a content hum and gently pet the other's head - not sure if he'd want to continue or stop there.

Joshua gazed at Valic for a few seconds but glanced away, to the window of course. He wasn't sure what he wanted, only that he really liked what just happened.

Valic pursed his lips before he looked away as well, gathering up the bedsheets and dirty laundry to wash, "Is there anything you wanted to do later on today?" He asked over his shoulder as he gathered everything.

"Not go to school." Joshua yawned slightly and rubbed his eye, which still hurt slightly. His cheek hurt too, he had accidentally bitten it when he was punched.

Valic snorted faintly, "I figured so much." He set all the dirty items in a basket and by the stairs to take down when he went to the first floor again. "Is there anything you'd want to do?"

"Not really." Joshua gazed out the window, where he could see an elementary school. "Did you go to one of those when you were a kid?"

"Ah, yea - but not here." Valic murmured to the other, going back in and sitting down on the couch with a small hum. "Did you?" He asked, head tilted, "Let's play the question game."

Joshua shook his head no. "I was a…well, I didn't go to school. This is my first year." He tilted his head a little to the side. "What's that?"

Valic nodded his head - figuring he went to home schooling. "It's where you ask a question and the other answers it, you have the choice to answer or to Pass. It's just a game to get to know the other." Val gave off a little leer, thinking of a question to ask, "Favorite color?"

Joshua paused to think. "It's hard to explain, but it's a bery very light shade of yellow, so almost white. Hm…have you ever tried to tie a cat to the blades of a fan and turn it on?"

Valic took note of the color said and shook his head in response to the question, "No - we grew up with dogs, not cats. Hmmm... What year are you?" They only had encore classes together so he never had the time to ask him what grade he was, all he knew was that Joshua was younger.

"Sophomore but with the education of a two year old." Joshua gave a faint yawn, stretching out on the bed. "So technically a preschooler. Hm…do you like pancakes?"

"Oh...Eh, I don't really eat it all that much - I rather make them though." He murmured with a content hum before going over and fixing the bed with clean sheets. "Do you like pancakes?"

"I think I'm getting married to a pancake soon, I love them so much." Joshua gave a small yawn and arched his back like a cat, eyes half lidded. "Do you get grumpy?"

"How about we go make some pancakes then?" Valic looked over to Joshua with a tilted head before scrunching his nose faintly, "Yea I get grumpy all the time, I just suppress it until I'm in an okay mood. Do you have any pets?"

"Hmph, I'm not hungry right now." Joshua gave a yawn and looked at Valic, rolling over onto his back. "No, but I love cats. Love them a lot…I'm afraid of dogs. They hate me."

Valic nodded his head a little bit and ran a hand through his hair, "I think you just ran into the wrong dogs." he murmured, flopping on his back just above Joshua on the bed, stretching out with a weird high pitched sound.

Joshua giggled at the sound and gazed at Valic. "You sound like a whale being turned into bacon." He muttered out softy. He himself arched his back and plopped on Valic's leg.

Valic rolled his eyes and gave off a loud huffing sound, relaxing completely and pulling his arms over his head and to his sides, snatching a pillow and resting it under his head for a few minutes. "Such a strange child."

"I'm normal, everyone else is just strange." Joshua muttered out, hands under his head as he rested on Valic's leg.

Valic rolled his eyes a little bit and shook his head softly, "Strange, strange, strange." He growled faintly before ruffling his hair a little.

"Normal normal normal." Joshua growled back softly, pawing at Valic's nose. The small teen jumped away, wanting to play.

Valic scrunched his nose a little before pawing at the other's hair softly with a slight frown n his face, but gladly played along.

Joshua dove under the bed, curling up like a cat and yawning playfully. "Catch me!"
