The Cat and The Dog.

Jane hurried out from her bathroom - which she was cleaning, "Bad dog!" She snapped, grabbing Valic's collar and pulling him off and snatching Joshua up, placing in him in the pin. "Go lay down!"

Joshua hissed and began to lick his fur, going to a corner where there was a temportary litterbox. He sprayed in it and began to roll around, to eliminate Valic's stink. He yowled and cried as if he were dying.

She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a nice chunk of beef and made her way back to the cat, setting it on the small plate in his pen where treats were normally set. "Hush now, kitty."

Joshua sat up and sniffed at the food. He sighed faintly and began to eat, recently he had slowed down as he realized there would be a next meal for him. His white fur shone handsomely in the setting sun's light, but his eyes were that ugly mix of ashy grey and lavender.

Valic watched the other for a moment, staring at the meat before watching the cat - the scent was too strong for him. He shifted on the couch and rested his head - just staring at him.

Joshua lifted his head and gazed calmly at Valic, tail calmly flicking side to side for once. He yawned and then resumed eating, the pen had holes in it so the small cat could just gaze out whenever he wanted to. Honestly he didn't like this queer part about him.

Valic continued to stare before he was side tracked to a rabbit running around in the yard, he wanted to chase it but knew he would be in trouble for his actions of killing it, seeing as it could have worms.

The white wolf, Niles, could tell the rabbit had caught Joshua's eye too. So, to show Valic up, the big white wolf raced out and snapped his fangs down on the rabbit's neck. He lifted his prey triumphantly, then raced away. He was obviously determined for the small handsome cat.

Valic growled lowly and stood up with his fur high on end and ruffled up, it was clear he was going to keep that wolf away from Joshua - not just because the scent drove him nuts but because he couldn't handle the fact that the cat was probably about to be lured to his death.

Joshua gazed after Niles, head lowered. He wanted to be alone a lot of times because of this--Valic stalking him and always all up on his butt didn't help. The point of being alone was to be...well...alone. No one else near. But then he'd hear Neku yowling and have to get up to talk to him.

Valic snarled out the door at the other canine but soon made his way back to the couch and just stared out the window to watch the wolf, to be sure he wasn't coming back.

Joshua began to scratch at some of his fur, maybe if he didn't have any fur then he wouldn't smell as bad. He hissed as one of his hind claws cut skin on accident and flicked a bleeding ear, standing up to go roll in his stink some more. He slipped into his clean litterbox and rolled around, at least the grains covered some of it.

Valic watched for the wolf, eyes narrowed a little before he saw his owner get up and walk past him, "I'm going to go shopping and then go get the puppy, you two don't destroy anything new."

Joshua lifted his head, heart sinking. Leaving them...alone? Once, when he was Neko, Valic had gotten up behind him and starting to slip his hands into the other's jeans, biting his neck demandingly. Which had been horrifying for the poor defenseless kitty.

She left the house in a matter of minutes - but Joshua was safe this time. Valic wasn't wanting the other at the moment - he was just waiting for that damned wolf to jump back in the yard so he could attack it, and Joshua was in the pen. He was protected from the canine a few yards away.

Joshua gazed out at Valic, Niles had no intention of coming back--today. He just sighed and flicked his tail side to side, bored out of his mind. "Hey, come play with me." he called to the big dog.

Valic stood up and walked over, in his Inu form now, "How do you want me to do that? You always reject me." He stated with a small frown, the cat didn't know how to rough house without getting too serious about it.

"I don't know--actually don't hurt me?" Joshua asked, head tilted to the side. He was a half Neko, and was just gazing at Valic calmly. "I'd like to play if you actually knew how to treat a lady--first rule, don't touch. God, when will you learn that one?"

"I rough house." He stated simply and looked at the other with half lidded eyes before he pulled the other out of the pen, "Are you sure you want to fight? Wouldn't you rather stay calm and settle? You release less heat when you're calm."

"Calm is boring." Joshua licked his fur, trying to stay like a lady. "I need action and adventure, not just laying around all day!"

Valic nodded his head a little and gently shoved the other to get a small play fight started, unless it got serious, but then it would always start over. "We can either rough house, or I can get the catnip."

"Catnip smells funny." Joshua wrinkled his nose and flopped onto his side, when pushed. He yanked and gazed at Valic a few times. Then he flipped over and yowled, racing away from him.

Valic wasn't sure but chased after the other with perked ears and a raised tail that wagged a little bit in excitement, he was thinking it was time to play chase.

Joshua spun around on the floor, claws digging in--that was how he turned sharply, like a race car. There were clawmarks in the floor from his sharp turns. He raced back towards Valic, ramming all his kitty fluff into the big dog.

Valic scooped the cat up real fast and spun him gently and ruffled the fur on the top of his head, "Such a silly little fluff ball." He muttered and set the cat down, pushing him gently to get him to dart again.

Joshua was like a wind up car. He ran, came back, was reset, set down, and was off again. The small cat race down the hallway and spun around, racing back towards Valic and smashing into his leg again.

Valic spun him again and again and ruffled up his fur before setting him off again, this was repeated several times over and over again.

Joshua finally collapsed at Valic's feet, he wanted to keep playing but his body was too tired. The fluffy cat shifted Neko and collapsed on a couch, shutting his eyes. This was their cuddle time, usually.

Valic walked over and pushed Joshua a little, moving so that he was comfortable in their usual position. That being Valic sandwiched between the back of the couch and Joshua's back. He pet the other's head softly and gave off a small sigh, licking his hair softly to groom him some - as neko and inu.

Joshua flipped over and returned the simple gesture, eyes half lidded. A purr rumbled in his throat and he raised a hand to get Val's hair out of his mouth. "Blech…dog hair…disgusting."

Valic scrunched his nose, "Don't complain, you have kitty litter in your hair." He murmured, picking out the little bits stuck in the luxurious hair, "You should stop that bad habit of yours." He murmured and continued to lick his hair.

Joshua just sighed and glanced away, every inch of the house stank like dog besides his box. "I need to go there. It's my safe haven."

"There's other places like that big cat post you never use by the window." He murmured, it was hidden by a planted tree and a few other things to give it a more hidden effect. With it there was a round hide and a high platform with a bed on it.

Joshua glanced over and stared at the piece of kitty equipment he had never seen before. "Well I didn't know that was there." He muttered and gazed back at Valic.

"It doesn't smell like me." He murmured, feeling a tad insecure that the dog scent he had didn't smell good, even though he was bathed weakly and groomed daily by Jane.

Joshua just didn't like dog smell, as Val didn't like his heat stink. He just shifted full cat and padded over to his litterbox, it was naptime. "I like this better…you can have that if you want."

Valic didn't want it since he couldn't fit in it so he just stayed on the couch, his dog house no longer smelled like dog either. It smelled like Joshua's heat and a bunch of other cats - it wasn't even his anymore. All he really had was the foot of Jane's bed and this one spot on the couch.

Joshua shut his eyes, and sighed softly. He shut his eyes and drifted off to sleep in the box. A few hours later he lifted his head, hearing cats on Val's doghouse. He knew how much Val loved it…so he growled and approached the chimney. The small cat jumped up it and began to viciously claw his way out of the house, through the brick entrance. He popped out on the roof, covered in soot.

Valic was on the couch, his new found only place to stay and gave off a small snore, bundled up and sleeping with a long stretch, lying awkwardly for a dog and moving into the warmth of his earlier position without being aware of what was going on.

Joshua jumped silently from the roof to the tree, there were a few male cats checking out Joshua's scent. He hissed and dropped down on their heads, smashing both into the ground. He yowled fiercely, claws raking down one of their sides and turning to the other, clawing his head.

Valic twitched at the sound of a yowl and slowly began to wake up from the disturbing sounds and lifted his head with droopy eyes, stretching and getting off the couch rather slowly.

Joshua hissed and scared the two males away. He smirked and walked back towards the tree, to go back inside through the chimney. He shivered in the cold, looking inside the dark hole.

Valic walked to the doggy door - a clear way for Joshua to just dart in with ease. Valic stretched again, popping his back and making his way out the doggy door, waiting a moment to let the cold air touch and allow him to adjust to it.

Joshua jumped from the roof to the porch. "Didja see me, Valic? I took out those two kitties!" He purred and flicked his tail. "Well?"

Valic looked up at the cat for a moment, "Come down here you're covered in soot." He murmured, "i didn't see it but I heard it and it sounded like you just kicked some fluffy ass." He murmured, lying down half in and half out of the doggy door.

Joshua gazed at his black and white fur and rolled in the snow. "I did! It was so cool, and now your doghouse is yours again!" He gazed at Val.

Valic smiled softly at that, "You didn't have to do that over me - it was old and broken either way." He was making excuses, but he really was grateful for what Joshua did.

Joshua heard claws scratching over the fence and whirled around, racing towards the cat and slashing at their face. He growled and chased them away. He wasn't really scary or strong, he would be in trouble in a real fight, but he could chase away the sissies.

Valic watched the other cat and stood up, going over to Joshua and grabbing him by his scruff, leading him to the doggy door. "Careful before you get your fluffy ass beat up."

Joshua purred and tilted his head back and gazed back at the big dog. He sighed happily and went limp, curling up to get comfortable. He gazed at the doghouse. "Can I go in?"
